Kemi Sulola is a British soul singer-songwriter and music entrepreneur, born and raised in East London. Her sound draws on the golden era of R&B, carrying a warmth and authenticity that has earned recognition from icons including Janet Jackson and Trevor Nelson, alongside radio support from BBC 1Xtra, Capital Xtra, Amazing Radio and Japan's J-Wave Radio.

Performing at prestigious venues such as The Jazz Cafe and KOKO Camden,  supporting artists such as PJ Morton and Teedra Moses, Kemi’s soulful melodies bring a distinctive warmth to every room she's in. That same artistry has also led her to international performance opportunities, such as performance engagements during the Cannes Lions Festival and her upcoming residency in Saudi Arabia.
Kemi has been previously commissioned for bespoke song pieces, including work with York University to enter an international AI Song contest, of which she positioned in the top three. More recently she has been invited to create participatory performance work for the V & A (Victoria and Albert ) Museum .

Her songwriting centres on authentic lyrical stories capturing you through the song with positivity, warmth, love, and the fuller realities of life. Giving her the chance to take part in writing camps with Sony Music and write with other independent artists. In 2024 she was invited to talk at the ICMP Songwriting Conference, where she spoke on her songwriting journey.

Kemi founded Sulola Music, a boutique recording studio and growing music community, offering studio rental,  artist development services, education and wellness sessions.  Under a unique framework her music wellness workshops have become a sought after service for creatives and wider communities both locally and internationally. 

Kemi is a BRIT Awards voting member and newly a voting member of the Recording Academy (the Grammys). She also holds roles with the Ivors Academy,  part of their Education Working Group as an Ambassador for the F-List. Beyond music, she serves as an ambassador for Girls Talk Global and  Sarcoidosis UK.

Acknowledged by her peers, Kemi was awarded Best New Artist (Style and Sound) and Most Memorable Act by Music of The Soul (MOTS). Her voice continues to carry weight across panels, events, and research initiatives shaping the industry's future. With new releases and projects on the horizon, Kemi is solidifying her place as a leading artist and innovator for the independent UK RnB and Soul community.
