Kemi Sulola is an artist born and raised in the heart of East London. her music stems from a range of musical influences, from Neo-soul, Hip-hop RnB to Reggae and Jazz, all leading to a unique combination of authentic music.


With a sound often linked to the golden era of 90’s RnB, the British soul singer brings that feel good and free vibe to her listeners, through her use of positive messages, emotive jazzy melodies and her light warm vocal tone. 

Her first E.P project called ‘Fallen For You’ gained recognition and play from radio, such as Neo2Soul, Brum Radio, BBC Introducing, capital xtra and other media outlets. RnB don Trevor Nelson himself had mentioned how he had enjoyed playing the EP in his car. The project is a blend of soul and RnB music and has been described as ‘refreshing, versatile and soulful’. 

Kemi made her first solo television performance live on London Live TV performing an acoustic version of her original song ‘Your Lady’.

Her single ‘Countdown’ with its RnB and grime mix was part of NANG’s Growing Pains 2, a compilation featuring signed and unsigned urban artists and was featured on BBC 1xtra Radio and Complex UK.

Kemi has performed at well-known venues in and around London doing her own shows but also supporting other artists. she has performed at the Koko Camden supporting Stormzy and Krept and Konan. In 2016 she performed in front of HRH Earl of Wessex who commended her on her songwriting and performance. she supported Grammy Award wining artist and musician PJ Morton of Maroon5 for his London show at the hideaway. 

Her single ‘Nothing Compares’ has been praised amongst the independent soul community, gaining positions on the Breaking Artists independent chart show, as well as added to playlists on real buzz radio and i live radio. The single was later remixed by Manny Talvez , giving the track a summery funky vibe, listen here

Her credibility and respect as an artist, has led to her being invited to join the Brit Awards voting Academy, were she is able to use her voice to nominate some of the most credible acts in British music for the prestigious Brit award.


After battling but overcoming a health condition (see room 3), Kemi made a return to 2020 with her current song raindrops, reviewed by platforms like You know i got soul , Soul addict and soul tracks. Raindrops also made track of the week at both premier radio and the blues project. Additionally the music video directed by spiro digital was premiered by guap, thus kemi's music is appreciated by the very platforms she looks up to.

an advocate for soulful rnb music and on a mission to bring back that good energy back to the music scene. She recently supported international artist teedra moses at her successful sold out 15th anniversary show for her acclaimed album complex simplicity .

In addition to music, Kemi uses visual content to tell her stories and further express her creativity. For instance her first animation music video ‘In my Dreams’, has received recognition from renown animator Galen Pehrson as well as Stephen Nixon who has worked on projects with artists such as Coldplay.

passionate about the art of music, a pianist herself, Kemi develops her songs on the piano and often coproduces with her producers. As a songwriter, supported by organisations such as PRS FOUNdation, she writes her own music, but also has sessions with other songwriters and artists within her field. you can see some of her collaborations here. 


giving back to her community with her art is important to kemi, she does this through her one to one and group vocal/performance sessions she teaches. As well as performing for charitable organisations, such as haven house children's hospice and crisis homeless charity.

whether its spontaneous moments like freestlying backstage with common ( as in video above) or most recently her recognition and encouragement from superstars like janet jackson, kemi certainly has a uniqueness that cannot be denied and is set to bring something refreshing to the world with her music and story. Her song 'JUSTICE' in light of the current climate on racial injustice is available to download via her bandcamp where all proceeds will be going to BLAM charity. 

mOST RECENTLY SHE HAS RELEASED HER SONG 'NEW FORM' which speaks on growth and transformation. Additionally the song having some personal links to kemi is being used to raise awareness and funds for sarcoidosis uk, of which 50% of donations from bandcamp and her website will be going to. more on that will be explained in her room 3 project, due to come out next year, 2021. 

Back on the live scene , you may catch her at your local jam session and open mic or gigging our with different musicians. For the moment she is working on new projects, look out for  her new music  releases coming soon.
