Kemi Sulola is an independent singer songwriter, artist and music entrepreneur . Hailing from East London, Kemi is bringing her sultry voice and sweet melodies to the local and international R&B music landscapes
Kemi's projects have gained international acclaim in the music scene with music reviews from Fader and The Blues Project in the UK to Soul Addicts in France and You Know I Got Soul in America. She has supported artists such as Stormzy, Teedra Moses and PJ Morton at their live shows . She has also performed at prestigious venues such as The Jazz Cafe and KOKO Camden for numerous events and platforms.
As well as being recognised among her peers, through receiving awards for her work, such as 'Best New Artist' by Style & Sound and Best of the Week' by UK Entertainment Awards- she has also caught the attention of some of the biggest names in the industry such as Trevor Nelson and Janet Jackson.
During her music career, Kemi has been supported by tastemakers and radio hosts such as DJ Ace, DJ Target, and Charlie Ashcroft, playing her music on stations like Capital Xtra, BBC Xtra, Amazing Radio and Reprezent Radio.
With a universal sound Kemi’s music resonates globally, with her music being played at stations such as J Wave radio , one of the biggest radio stations in Japan.
As the UK RnB and Soul scene continue to rise and thrive, Kemi is doing her part to add to it. Her recent single 'T.I.M.Y.’, has been labelled ‘an instant classic’ by Soul Tracks and added to the +44 R&B playlist by Amazon Music UK among other community support.
In 2023 Kemi created her first AI-generated song called VTGO aka Vertigo which achieved a top 3 placement in an international song contest.
Beyond her artistic projects, Kemi Sulola extends her influence in the music industry through her public speaking by participating in panels, events, and research initiatives.
As the founder of her own studio ‘Sulola Music Studio’ , she cultivates a community supporting independent artists across the UK and provides one to one music services as well as renting the studio space. She is a member of the Ivors Academy’s Future Sounds Council, and their Education and Careers Council as well as being a Brit Award Voting member Kemi amplifies her intentions and mission to be a positive attribute to the industry.
Her recent residency at Blues Kitchen and regular engagement in other live events further solidifies her presence in the vibrant live music scene and shows her as a worthy performer among her diverse musical endeavours.
